The 1st International Tournament Isthmia 2011 is set to take place from 18th to 25th August at the "Alkyon" Hotel in Vrachati, Korinthia, Greece. The tournament will be 9-rounds Swiss event, divided in two rating groups. The organizers are Pnevmatiki Stegi Peristeriou, Korinthia Chess Academy "Argonaftis", Prefecture of Peloponnisos and Municipality of Velo Vocha.

FIDE announces the Women's Grand Prix 2011-2012 which will give qualification to the Women's World Championship match 2013. In total 18 players will participate - 10 qualifiers as per regulations, 6 nominees from the organisers of each tournament and 2 nominees of the FIDE President.

The traditional 4th International Chess Festival "Sport Summer 2011" is scheduled to take place on July 8-15th in Hotel "Petrus" in Paraćin, Serbia.
